Rhythm In My fingers

Sunday 5th November 2023 | 1.30 – 5.00

St John’s Wood Church, St John’s Wood, NW8 7NE

Continuing the exploration of rhythm in its many guises, this autumn’s event will concentrate on how the action of the left hand goes beyond just hitting the right note. Whether it hits the right or wrong one that note needs to ‘pop’.

We will explore how quality of sound, coordination with the bow, security of tuning, can all be vastly improved by a rhythmical left hand.

The music for the event will be chosen to reflect the theme, and with the aim to demonstrate the importance rhythm holds whether it is Flight of the Bumble Bee or Mahler Adagio, which we will not be playing!

The parts will be sent out in advance and allocated according to playing level.

Tea, coffee and cake will be in abundance in the break, with time to catch up with friends or meet new like-minded people.

There is parking on the streets around the church.
