Back in the Groove

A Play Day for Adult Amateur Cellists

Sunday 6th March 2022 | 1.00pm – 5.00pm

The School of Philosophy and Economic Science, London W1

Tickets available after 1st November 2021.

It’s been such a long time since we had the chance to play together. We’re all feeling like a kid who’s been barred from the playground for over a year.

Just being able to plan the next event feels like opening the gates and spinning round the roundabout or swooping down the slide.  We’d  like our reunion to be a celebration of togetherness, music and an absence of Zoom—an afternoon of ensembles to play until our fingers hurt, with maybe a smattering of technical tips thrown in. But mostly playing, because that is what has been sorely missed.

All parts will be individually allocated to suit the player, and there will be something for everyone whether post-grade 8 or a near beginner. There will be music from all genres, from the serious to the silly, and with no pressure on anyone to be anywhere near perfect. Players can simply enjoy the experience.

There will of course be an extravagant tea and cake break in the middle of the afternoon where old friends and acquaintances can catch up.

We hope you can join us for this celebratory afternoon!
