With Selma Gokcen

Leonard Rose was famous for his rich expressive sound and his school of bowing, which owed much to the Russian tradition of the well-known violinist and pedagogue Ivan Galamian. In his video on bowing, viewed on the internet more than 35,000 times, Rose gives a detailed demonstration of how to speak with the bow and how to produce a ringing tone. A pupil of Leonard Rose for nine years, Selma has spent 35 years developing her knowledge of the bow and sharing it with students and professionals. She will show the video and give additional explanations and exercises. Participants as well as observers are welcome.
