Trailblazing cellist, Shirley Smart, presents her new album, Long Story Short, which draws on a unique background including ten years living in Jerusalem and working with the overlapping worlds of jazz, Arabic, Turkish and North African music.

Smart has performed with acclaimed musicians including Avishai Cohen, Omer Avital, Yasmin Levy, Mulato Astatke, Robert Mitchell and Antonio Forcione and since returing to the UK, she has established herself as one of the most creative and in demand string players on both the jazz and world music scenes.

The trio features two of the UK’s leading lights in world-influenced jazz – John Crawford on piano, and Demi Garcia Sabat on percussion.

Long Story Short is released on 33 records.
