An evening of cello music by Duo Brikcius, including works by Jacques Offenbach, Gideon Klein and Leoš Janáček

To mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Czech composer Gideon Klein – an organiser of cultural life at Theresienstadt, who died in German captivity in 1945 aged 26 – and the 200th anniversary of the birth of German-French composer Jacques Offenbach.

An evening of cello music by Duo Brikcius, including works by Jacques Offenbach, Gideon Klein and Leoš Janáček.

Duo Brikcius is a Czech chamber music ensemble created by two young cellists of international renown, brother and sister, Anna Brikciusová and František Brikcius. Both founding members are well acquainted with the solo cello repertoire, but decided to increase their repertoire with music written for two cellos.

Duo Brikcius have appeared in many festivals both in their native Czech Republic and abroad, including in Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
